US jobless claims fell last week

The US Department of Labor said that jobless claims in the US fell by 4,000 to a seasonally adjusted 222,000 for the week ending November 12th. Analysts had expected jobless claims to reach 225,000 last week.

Unadjusted jobless claims fell by 6,101 to 199,603 last week, and declines in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana and Texas offset notable increases in Minnesota and North Carolina. The data showed that applications for continuous unemployment benefits in the United States rose by 13 thousand applications to 1.507 million applications in the week ending on November 5, the highest level since last March.
