The index fell to 106.1 in August from a downwardly revised 114.0 in July. Analysts had expected the consumer confidence index to decline to 116.0 in August. Consumer inflation expectations rose for 12 months to 5.8% in August from 5.7% in July.

Data issued by the US Department of Labor showed that job opportunities in the United States decreased by 338 thousand to 8.827 million jobs in July, the lowest level since March 2021, and June data was revised downward to show 9.165 million jobs instead of 9.582 million jobs announced. about it previously.
