The International Monetary Fund lowers its global growth forecast for 2024
The International Monetary Fund cut its forecast for global real GDP growth for 2024 to 2.9% from the July forecast of 3.0% but left its forecast for global real GDP growth in 2023 unchanged at 3.0%.
The IMF said core inflation excluding food and energy should gradually decline to 6.3% in 2023 from 6.4% in 2022, and decline to 5.3% in 2024.
The International Monetary Fund raised its growth forecast for the United States by 0.3 percentage points to 2.1% for 2023 and by 0.5 percentage point to 1.5% for next year, and the International Monetary Fund reduced its forecast for euro zone growth to 0.7% in 2023 and to 1.2% in 2024.
