W.H.O. calls for improved data exchange on the virus
The World Health Organization chief today urged all health ministers to improve the exchange of data on the Coronavirus immediately and said he will send a team of international experts to work with their Chinese counterparts.
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tiedros Adhanum Gebresos, told the WHO Executive Board that the United Nations was sending masks, gloves, and respirators, and nearly 18,000 garments from its warehouses to about twenty countries that needed support.
Twenty-two countries have so far reported trade or travel-related measures linked to the Coronavirus, which Tedros said should be "short-lived and commensurate with public health risks" and regularly reviewed, adding that "such restrictions can have an effect on increasing fear and stigma with little It is a public health benefit.
