Germany and France Compete for European command in NATO

France and Germany sought to push for European leadership within NATO at the first ministerial meeting since French President Emmanuel Macron warned that the US-led military alliance was witnessing a mental death. With Berlin's second largest army on the other hand, Berlin has also proposed informal meetings to allow for more discussion.
