US stocks rise on hopes of the Corona vaccine
US stocks rose today amid optimism about developing a vaccine for coronavirus Covid 19 in addition to the resumption of opening the economy, but the S&P 500 failed to hold above the key psychological level of 3000 points.
But stocks pared some gains after Bloomberg News reported that the Trump administration was considering a set of sanctions against Chinese officials, companies and financial institutions, in addition to statements by White House adviser Larry Kudlow.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 529.95 points, 2.17% to 24,995.11 points, the Standard & Poor's 500 Index increased by 36.32 points, or 1.23%, to 2991.77 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 15.63 points, or 0.17% to 9340.22 points.
