Economic activity in France is slows to lowest level in four months
Data released by Markt today showed that the composite PMI that combines the industrial and service sectors in France fell to 48.5 points in September, compared to 51.6 points in August, the lowest level in four months.
Analysts had expected France's composite PMI to rise to 51.9 in September, and new cases of coronavirus, COVID-19, in France in recent weeks rose to record levels.
The services PMI in the second largest economy in the euro area declined to 47.5 points in September from 51.5 points in August, while the manufacturing PMI rose to 50.9 in September from 49.8 in August.
