The dollar is recording its highest weekly gain since early April
The US dollar rose today to post its biggest weekly gain since early April amid the surge of new cases of coronavirus, COVID-19, as well as uncertainty over the US Congress's passage of another monetary stimulus plan.
The main dollar index, which measures the currency’s performance against 6 major currencies, rose 0.31% to 94.601, and the dollar rose against the Japanese yen, to 105.60 yen, its highest weekly gain since early June.
The euro fell against the dollar by 0.40% to $ 1.1627 after hitting its lowest level in nearly two months and its biggest weekly decline since early April, and the Australian dollar fell against the dollar by 3.6%, its biggest weekly decline since March 20.
