Trump postpones stimulus negotiations until after presidential election
US President Donald Trump today canceled negotiations with Democratic lawmakers on monetary stimulus legislation until after the election despite the increasing incidence of the coronavirus, COVID-19, in most parts of the country.
"I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election, and right after I win, we will pass the major stimulus bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and small businesses," Trump wrote in a tweet on Twitter.
US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that Trump's decision to postpone the negotiations shows that the White House was in complete disarray, and Pelosi said on Sunday that progress had been made in negotiations with the Trump administration on the stimulus project.
