The US economy slows down in December
Data released by the Markt Corporation today showed that the composite PMI that combines the manufacturing and service sectors in the United States fell to 55.7 points in December, compared to 58.6 points in November. The manufacturing PMI declined to 56.5 points in December from 56.7 points in November, with new orders dropping to 55.7 points in December from 57.4 points in November, while the employment index rose to 52.1 points in December from 51.7 points in November.
The services PMI declined to 55.3 points in December from 58.4 points in November, with new business declining to 55 points in December from 57.6 points in November, and the employment index fell to 53.9 in December from 57.8 points in November.
