US budget deficit rises to $ 311 Billion in February
The US Treasury Department said today that the US government recorded a budget deficit of $ 311 billion in February, an increase of $ 76 billion over the same month last year, as expenditures against the coronavirus continued to rise.
Revenue increased 32% to $ 248 billion in February compared to the same period last year, and expenses increased 32% to $ 559 billion in February compared to the same period last year. During the first five months of fiscal 2021, the deficit increased 68% to a record $ 1.047 trillion for the period, surpassing the previous record deficit of $ 652 billion in October and February of the 2010 fiscal year.
