Industrial activity in France rises to highest level in more than three years
Data released by the Markt Corporation today showed that the composite PMI, which combines the industrial and service sectors in the second largest economy in Europe, rose to 49.5 points in March, compared to 47.0 points in February. France's manufacturing PMI rose to 58.8 in March, compared to 56.1 in February, the highest level since December 2017, and the services PMI rose to 47.8 in March, compared to 45.6 in February.
Also, other data released by the European Commission today showed that consumer confidence in the euro zone rose more than expected, rising by 4 points to -10.8 points in March, and analysts' expectations were that consumer confidence in the euro zone would reach -14.5 points in March.
