Bitcoin crosses the $40,000 barrier after Musk's comments
Bitcoin rose today to surpass the $40 thousand barrier after Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted, as it rose 4.3% to $4,0692.27, making the world's number one digital currency gains about 40% since the beginning of the year so far. "When there is confirmation of reasonable use of clean energy by miners with a positive future trend, Tesla will resume allowing bitcoin transactions,"
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Twitter. In February, Tesla announced a $1.5 billion bitcoin purchase and said it would take the cryptocurrency into repayment, while later saying the electric car maker would not accept bitcoin due to concerns about how the coin was mined.
