UK industrial production is growing at its fastest ever
A survey showed that British manufacturers reported the strongest production growth ever as the Confederation of British Industry's monthly index of industrial output growth rose over the past three months to 37, the highest since CBI records began in 1975.
The CBI order balance, which is a measure of the difference between the percentage of employers who say order levels are above or below normal, recorded 19 points in June versus 17 points in May, the highest level since 1988. The survey price balance rose to 46 points in June compared to 38 points in May, the highest level since 1982. Official government data today showed that Britain reported 11,625 new cases of coronavirus, Covid 19, in addition to 27 deaths, within 28 days of positive testing, compared to 10,633 cases and 5 deaths reported the previous day.
