U.S. jobs increased to highest point in 18 Months
Employment opportunities in the United States recovered from their lowest levels in 18 months in October, and layoffs fell sharply, which may alleviate some concerns about declining employment demand. The Ministry of Labor said in its monthly job surveys that the number of vacancies, a measure of labor demand, rose to 230,000 to 7.27 million, but the rise did not compensate for the decrease of 269,000 in September, which pushed vacancies to the lowest level since March 2018, and vacancies began heading downward this year since it recorded an all-time high of 7.63 million in late 2018 and the trade opportunity sector Retail in October, driven by Jobs in October, which saw an increase of 125,000 vacancies, increased the job rate to 4.6% in October from 4.4% in September, but employment decreased by 187,000 jobs to 5.76 million jobs in October.
