Wall Street Falls amid fears of re-closing the economy due to the Coronavirus Variant
The three major indices of US stocks fell today as the Standard & Poor's and Nasdaq recorded the largest percentage drop in a single day since mid-May and the Dow Jones witnessed its worst day in nearly nine months. New cases and deaths rose with the Delta Covid 19 variant in many countries, which increased fears about reopening the economy again, and for this reason, the travel and entertainment companies fell. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 724.56 points, or 2.09%, to 33,963.29 points, the Standard & Poor's 500 index fell by 68.36 points, or 1.58%, to 4258.8 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 152.25 points, or 1.06%, to 14,274.98 points.
