Powell: The impact of the coronavirus variable on the economy is still not clear

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said in a webcast event with teachers and students that it remains unclear whether the rising delta-coronavirus outbreak will have a noticeable impact on the economy. Powell's brief comment on the recovery indicated that the increase in new cases and the delayed pace of vaccination did not undermine the Fed's view that the recovery would remain on track.

Powell added that the pandemic continues to cast a shadow over economic activity and this situation is likely to continue for a while, so we cannot declare victory yet, but many companies have adapted their business models to the new world and are able to continue.
