Oil rises as the energy crisis continues
Oil prices rose today to their highest levels in several years with the continuation of the energy supply crisis around the world, and since the beginning of September Brent crude rose by about 19% while WTI rose by about 21%.
Brent crude futures, the international benchmark, rose to 85.08 dollars a barrel, and US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose to 82.96 dollars a barrel. And lower temperatures in China have revived concerns about whether the world's largest energy consumer can meet domestic heating needs, and the energy crisis has caused China's economic growth to fall to its lowest level in a year.
