The eurozone economy fell to its lowest level in six months in October

Data released by Markit Corporation today showed that the composite Purchasing Managers' Index, which combines the industrial and service sectors in the euro zone, fell to 54.2 points in October, compared to 56.2 points in September, its lowest level in six months. The services purchasing managers' index in the 19 member states of the euro area fell to 54.6 points in October from 56.4 points in September, the lowest level in six months, with the new business index falling to 55.1 points in October from 55.3 points in September.

The data showed that the input price index of the composite PMI rose to 73.2 points in October, compared to 70.9 points in September, the highest level since the beginning of the survey in mid-1998.
