Nasdaq rises more than 3%, supported by major technology companies

The three major US stock indexes rose today and the Nasdaq Composite Index jumped 3% today and has gained nearly 4% this week so far with the support of major tech companies. Big tech stocks Meta Platforms (FB), Google owner Alphabet (GOOGL), Tesla Inc (TSLA) and Amazon (AMZN) rose between 2.0% and 3.1%, and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index was up 2.0% 5.0%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 537.15 points, or 1.52%, to 35,764.18 points, the Standard & Poor's 500 Index rose 96.81 points, or 2.11%, to 4,688.48 points, and the Nasdaq Composite Index rose 459.76 points, or 3.02%, to 15,684.91 points.
