US dollar rises before the Fed meeting
The US dollar rose against the major currencies today, before the Federal Reserve meeting and the European Central Bank meeting, and data showed that producer prices in the US rose more than expected in November.
The main dollar index, which measures the performance of the greenback against 6 major currencies, rose 0.2% to 96.5520, after rising by 0.3% on Monday, and the US dollar rose against the Japanese yen to record 113.73 yen. The single European currency fell against the US dollar by more than 0.2% to record the euro 1.1256, and the pound rose against the US dollar by 0.1% to 1.3224 dollars.
