US Official Believe Iran shot down Ukraine Passenger Plane
Three US officials said today that the US government believes that Iran accidentally shot down a Ukraine passenger plane that crashed in Iran, killing all of its 176 passengers and citing a comprehensive review of satellite data. One official said that the US government has reached a high degree of certainty Until the Iranian anti-aircraft missiles shot down the plane.
US President Donald Trump said today that the fatal accident could be a mistake and that he did not think it was a mechanical problem and the three officials said that Washington believed that the downing of the plane was an accident and that shortly after Iran launched missiles at two US military bases in Iraq where the Iranians were in High alert for the American military response.
An Iranian report today quoted witnesses on the ground and on a passing plane flying at high altitude, saying that the plane was burning while in the air and Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration refused to comment today, as did the Pentagon and Ukrainian officials had no immediate comment
