The euro hits its highest level in a month against the dollar
The European single currency rose against the US dollar today to its highest level in a month amid optimism over peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, but the United States warned that it saw no signs of real seriousness from Russia. The main dollar index, which measures the performance of the greenback against 6 major currencies, fell 0.596% to 98.496, after hitting its lowest level since March 17 earlier in the session.
The euro rose against the US dollar by 0.81% to $1.1076, the highest level since March 1, the Japanese yen rose against the US dollar by 0.89% to 122.83, and the New Zealand dollar rose against the US dollar by 0.38% to $0.69225.
