Bitcoin rises more than 5% to $3,1441.76

Today, Bitcoin rose 5.2% to $3,1441.76, adding $1,552.78 to its previous close, and the world's number one cryptocurrency was down 34.8% from its year-high of $48,234 on March 28.

Ether, the second largest cryptocurrency linked to the Ethereum blockchain, rose 3.17% to $1,862.14 today, adding $57.16 to the previous close. Brent crude futures recorded $119.51 a barrel, after rising to $121.95, and US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell to $118.50 a barrel, after hitting a three-month high at $120.99.
